Mexico – Best Country on Earth? 🤤

Which current U.S. States belonged to Mexico before the Mexican-American War in the 1840s? Read to the end to find out!

Long time no… write? Whatever that saying is, it’s good to be back. Lots to catch up on. Let’s get into it!

Big Recap

I just finished a spectacular ten day trip to Mexico with one of my best buds. With rich culture, the best food in the world, kind people, proximity, and literally so much to explore, Mexico is unmatched. It’s just next level. Each trip down there reinforces its splendor in my mind.

Sunset in Puerto Escondido.

The first five days we spent in Puerto Escondido, a beautiful city on the coast of Oaxaca, and it’s wonderful. It’s got that unique, authentic Oaxacan culture you can’t find anywhere else in Mexico, amazing waves for surfing, and deliiiiiicious food. We got massages on our hotel balcony, surfed four different times (may have wrenched my back wrecking on a massive wave I had no business riding lol), made a ton of quesadillas, and stayed in a massive Airbnb complete with a pool and ocean view for a cool 60$ a night, split to $30 each between the two of us. Man, life is tough 😉

And then, we spent another five days in Mexico City. Mexico City is so underrated it’s bonkers. Lucha Libre (Mexican WWE), Teotihuácan, Michelin Star Tacos, riots in the streets when the local soccer team won the Mexico Futból Liga, and so much fascinating history. It’s a city to add to everybody’s list. A lot of people seem hesitant because it doesn’t have that wonderful Mexican ocean. But trust me, it makes up for it.

The best part of all this was the quality time with my bud. We spent literal weeks at a time together as kids, and it felt like we reverted straight back to that time again. It’s annoying that as an adult you have to plan friendship. As a kid, it would just happen. You’re playing on this playground? I’m playing on this playground! Let’s be friends!

But still, it’s always worth it. As we all know, time together is precious, because you never know how much you’re going to get!

Just adulting over here, don’t mind me. Lol.

Anyways, after that we went to LA, ate Jersey Mikes five times in four days, saw some more friends, saw the new Mad Max movie Furiosa (it’s phenomenal), and then yesterday flew to Seattle to meet Reyka and my parents at the Airport!

Reyka had a plane delay on the tarmac for two hours while coming from Ohio (there was a baby without a ticket on her plane), but now we’re happily together again (long distance sucks), and with family in Washington.

Anyways, that’s about it! For the next few weeks we’re prioritizing quality time with loved ones, editing the vlog, and beginning to lift our eyes to the horizon of this years trip planning. We’ll share our rough plans with you next week.

Also, to answer the history question above – Mexico ceded Texas, California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, most of Arizona and Colorado, and parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wyoming to the U.S. after the American-Mexican War! Can you imagine if that war never happened? Mexico would be massive!

Anyways, that’s all for now folks. No new videos edited unfortunately what with all the travel, plus the fact that this next video is an absolute beast of a project to edit.

Love,

Wyatt (and Reyka)
