NEW COUNTRY ALERT 🚨

AUSTRALIA!!

That’s where we’re headed in a week. It’s going to be epic. Our goal is to avoid the spiders and snakes but soak in the “G’days” and “Shrimp on the barbies.”

Keepin’ it short and sweet this week with tips to book cheaper flights.

Seeing this mapped out is so exciting.

So… Australia is only the beginning. On September 2nd, we are beginning our first ever around-the-world trip. We begin down under, then snake our way into Asia for fall, and eventually over to the Middle East and then up to Europe. It’s going to be INSANE.

As the procrastinators we are, we’ve only begun seriously planning a week and a half before leaving… but the prices right now are SO CHEAP!!

For example, we fly from Vancouver to Sydney, Australia for only $327.13 each. That, if you’re unfamiliar with trans-pacific rates, is an absolute bargain. Plus, it includes a 6 day stopover in Honolulu.

If you are strategic and open to unconventional options, you can travel for very little right now. You can do this by:

  • Flying on days where there’s less demand – Monday thru Wednesday is usually cheapest for us.
  • Being open to multi-day stopovers in a cool, new destination. (I’ve heard Honolulu’s nice 😘)
  • Flying uncommon flight times. Our flight to Hawaii will arrive at 11PM. But sometimes that’s what it takes to shave hundreds of dollars off a flight price. (One caveat – it’s helpful to have wonderful friends/family that will wake up and drive you to/from the airport for this one! Thanks again Chuck, Andi, mom, and dad 😄)

People always ask how we afford to travel. I wish the answer was simple and easy, but the truth is that it’s easy but complicated.

The good news is that if you’re persistent, crafty, and hungry, then by doing a couple dozen little things right, you can pay 50-75% less than what most people pay.

There’s our new video from last week. It’s a video documenting 10 days in Chile. It’s 90 minutes long ðŸ¤¯

No new video this week as it’s taking longer than expected to edit, but we’ll be out again with our first Peru video next Saturday!

It’s always fun to write this email because I just sorta let my fingers run away with it. Today, as you saw, my fingers felt like travel advice.

Anyways, thank you so much for reading. We are sending you huge hugs wherever you are in this wide world.
