Greetings from 32,000 feet above Indiana! How insane is it that we are okay with being shoveled into a tube and hurdled across the sky with hundreds of strangers at 500 MPH? Modern life is weird, folks.
On today’s docket we got where we’re headed, airport lounges, behind the scenes production news, and a travel update!
Where We’re Going Next
Seattle! To my home! We’re flying Southwest and we have a layover in Las Vegas, which we’re not upset about because there’s a lounge in Vegas!
The Beauty of Airport Lounges
- Lounges almost always offer unlimited food, fresh water, great wifi, and amazing seats.
- Lounges sometimes offer spa services and many have showers. (I know, it sounds odd to shower at the airport. But believe me, it’s underrated. Also, we’ve yet to experience spa services at a lounge, but we did get a message chair that first time in Vietnam which was utter luxury, to put it lightly.)
- There is at least 1 (often more) lounge in almost every major airport you visit, and many smaller ones. Say goodbye to paying for food and sitting in uncomfortable seats forever.
- Many lounges are part of a network called “Priority Pass.” You can get a Priority Pass Membership included with many credit cards as part of their benefits.
We personally exhausted the 10 Priority Pass Visits with the Hilton Honors Surpass Card really fast so we just recently got the Capital One Venture X Credit Card with unlimited Priority Pass lounge access.
Seriously, even if you only visit airports a few times a year, I think these lounges are worth it.
Investing in Production
Last week I walked into Best Buy and spent $1,145.00 on a brand new Macbook! Why?
- We want a backup editing laptop in case one stops working. If we’d had this (what I’m typing on right now) when we were in Jamaica and the Bahamas, we’d have been able to avoid our posting hiatus of over a month.
- The laptop was 200$ off because it’s back to school season now. Nothing like a good deal
- We are trying to really ramp up production quantity, and having two laptops means Reyka and I can edit videos at the same time!
- My old laptop was from 2015 and would’ve taken eons to utilize Adobe Premiere Pro, the editing software we use.
- This investment has been on our mind for a while, and we’re excited to see the dividends it pays us over the next chapter of our channel with increased quantity/quality of production.
Travel Update!
You may recall that our next trip will be to Europe?
Well our country #18 is going to be the NETHERLANDS! Home of stroopwafel, tall people (finally I’ll fit in), and bicycles, we are ecstatic to be exploring this country together. Reyka and I spent a weekend in Paris back in 2021 and we are delighted to be heading back to Northern Europe, a region we’ve tasted but are ready to devour.

Our Jamaican food tour was a blast. I tried Jamaican coffee for the first time and Reyka adored her Juici Patti. And don’t even get me started on the banana bread:
Anyways, I’m going to go watch the new Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse! It came out a few weeks ago and it’s already on IMDB’s list of top 20 movies ever!
