Private Video

November 1, 2021

Friends and Family,

And just like that, it’s November. In this one I’ll cover where we are now, suggest you go check out our new Paris video, provide background on our new goal - 50 countries in 3 years, and give you wonderful W&R Newsletter Subscribers a link to our first ever private video. Yes, that means you.

So, where are we now?

Ubrique! We’ve been hiking, cooking a lot, and just getting accustomed to the relaxed, friendly way of Spanish living. To see the town itself we made a video all about it:

Paris video:

I think it’s one of the best we have ever made:

The challenge: So, why’d we do it? Why attempt to go to 50 countries in 3 years? Well, because:

  1. We want to travel! Goals, even random arbitrary ones, ensure we keep pushing for more. It’s motivation. Even though Reyka and I know we want to travel, it is so easy to say, ‘oh, next week we’ll buy tickets,’ or, ‘that country ain’t goin’ anywhere. What’s the rush?’ But now, there is urgency. In fact, there are only 165 weeks until December 31st, 2024. We have been to 4 countries, and so with 46 more to go we need to average around 1 country every 3.5 weeks. 1 country every 3.5 weeks!!! Now we can’t procrastinate. Now we feel pressure to travel. And this is a good thing.
  2. We won’t get stuck. We could eat Mexican food forever. The rich Spanish culture could take decades to understand. Visiting France only leaves you wanting more. These are all great things, but the desire to travel can run dry when the places you visit make you want to stay. This goal will make us go to more countries, and (perhaps more importantly) make us go to new countries. Later on, after we have seen more of the world, we can begin to linger and mosey around the countries we love the most.

It was a chaotic time moving into our Ubrique apartment. Here is a video just for you all:

Peace and love,

Wyatt and Reyka
